The system includes one 2-post ram, pneumatically
operated barrel transfer pump unit and one metering, dispense,
robotic and control system unit.
The pneumatically operated barrel transfer system is used to
pump material under pressure to the header/manifold piping arrangement.
This arrangement supplies six precision gear metering pumps.

The dispense
valves are robotic controlled in the X, Y and Z. A multi part
pallet is automatically indexed into position, verified, pallet
raised from belt and a dispense cycle started. Upon completion
of dispense cycle of one or multiple shots of varying volumes,
the pallet is lowered, indexed out and another pallet is indexed
into position.
The system
includes pressure transducers on all metering pumps discharge
lines along with a pressure transducer on the supply header.
In this way, pressure balance is maintained and delivery of
material is assured. Additionally, the servo motors encoder
feedback is continuously monitored and reported whereby accuracy
of metered volume is maintained. The Smart Shot Automated
Dispenser System is the most accurate dispensing of high viscosity
materials in the industry to date!

The system can be configured to include
a vision system to verify shot volumes and placement accuracies.
The system can be built to be compatible to existing part
conveyor system or supplied as a total manually loaded lean
cell.
The standard control system includes a
Allen Bradley PLC system to include a color panel view operator
interface terminal. The control system includes a three tier
stack light and audible horn notification system to alert
operators of system status. Controller provides serial and
ethernet communication capability.
The system as shown can be built to user's
specification with minimal impact on deliveries due to the
modular design from which Chemical Systems engineering is
famous.
