Theory of Operation
Chemical Systems Smart Pump Metering Dispense Systems utilize precision
grade positive displacement gear pumps as its means from which to
meter material. Precision Gear Metering Pumps operate from the following
principle. Liquid is filled in the grooves of the revolving gears
at the inlet, when the gears are disengaged. The liquid confined in
the cavities formed by the gear teeth, gear casing and side plates
moves along the internal circumferential of the casing towards the
outlet. The liquid is displaced by the meshing of the gear teeth at
the outlet. |

Standard Packages
Chemical Systems offers the above Smart Pump System in various standard
"packages" to include: Simplex, Duplex and 4-Plex Versions.
All standard packages include Precision Gear Pump/Speed Reducer and
Motor Assembly, 460/3/60 A/C Inverter Drive with Relays, Selector
Switch, Indicator Lights in a NEMA 4 Enclosure. The structural framework
is manufactured from aluminum profiles and aluminum plate. The entire
assembly is mounted on swivel casters for portability. The Pumps,
by design, run continuously either in bypass or discharge mode as
controlled by an Electro-Pneumatic 3-Way Switching Valve. The control
for either bypass or discharge mode is generated by user supplied
signal. The system is piped using 316SS Tubing, Fittings and Valves.
The Smart Pump System is totally self-contained and shipped complete
in every aspect for immediate operation.
General Information
Chemical Systems Smart Pump Metering/Dispense Systems feature
precision grade positive displacement gear pumps. The pump head is
made of very precise and high quality parts to realize high performances.
All parts are finished to 2 to 5 microns (0.0001 to 0.0002 inches)
tolerances. Precision Gear Metering Pumps, by design, provide unequaled
High Accuracy of Discharge Volume. This high volume efficiency enables
a stable output flow despite fluctuations in pressures and/or viscosity.
The Precision Gear Pump(s) are matched with an appropriate precision
grade Speed Reducer whereby optimum resolution and operating efficiencies
are achieved.
The Speed Reducer features a two piece die cast aluminum gear case
and double lip type rubber oil seals on both the input and output
shafts. Gearing consists of precision grade helical high speed stage
and spur at subsequent stages. Needle and ball bearings are used
in the gear case and motor. Both Speed Reducer and accompanying
electrical motor are rated for continuous duty.
Power and Control are always assured by use of an A/C Inverter
Drive featuring frequency pulse modulation technology with 7 preset
control parameters, pulse and analog outputs for alarm or monitoring
and analog inputs or serial port connections for control of operating
parameters from an external host controller.
